Energybox is seeking a high-energy, self-motivated individual to join as a Data Scientist in our Nashville, TN headquarters. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with a world class international team that is revolutionizing the way people live with energy. The candidate will be integral in a wide variety of global projects ranging from product launches to branding initiatives.

About Your Job:

  • Develop pipelines to manage in-house data and unstructured external data with python, pandas, SQL and other tools 
  • Maintain and enhance existing analytics feature on our IOT platform under software development principle and process
  • Research data analytics methodologies leveraging in-house data and external data
  • Develop innovative features to drive energy efficiency and optimize operations for our customers
  • Collaborate with our platform development team to create algorithms to generate powerful insights from medium frequency energy data
  • Deliver data insights to drive meaningful, actionable decisions
  • Produce high quality deliverables based on thorough understanding of business requirements
  • Report to the COO

About You: 

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics or related disciplines
  • 3+ years working experience in data science and machine learning
  • Proficiency with in Python and pandas
  • Experience with machine learning and predictive modeling
  • Experience with energy data preferred 
  • Experience with software development including code writing that is reusable, well documented and that optimizes runtime, unit tests and manages development environments
  • Experience with developing and maintaining APIs
  • Experience with energy efficiency and cooling/heating systems is highly desirable
  • Proficiency with Github for version control
  • Leadership competences and business/customer projects experience is a must
